"Your Faith Has Healed You" Luke 8:48

Your Faith Gets God's Attention

The Bible says: A woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for 12 years, but no one could heal her.  She came up behind Him and touched the hem of his garment, and immediately her bleeding stopped.  "Who touched me?"  Jesus asked.  When they all denied it, Peter said," Master, the people are crowding and pressing against you."  But Jesus and, "someone touched me; I know that power has gone out from me."  Then the women, seeing that she could not go unnoticed, came trembling and… told why she had touched him and how she had been instantly healed.  Then He said to her; "daughter your faith has healed you.  Go in peace."  Luke 8:43-48.

Notice three important things in this story: (1) She did something she'd never done before.  She decided to try Jesus.  Wise move!  It means stepping into the unknown and the untried, finding God's grace at work in unexpected ways.  (2) She recognized her moment.  She knew that Jesus was visiting her town, and might not be back.  There are "God-moments" in life when you’ve got to overcome your fear and move out in faith.  If you don't, you'll miss them.  (3) She opened the door for others.  Up until this time no one in Scripture had been healed by touching Jesus’ garment.  So her act of faith opened the door for others.  "People brought all their sick to him and beg him to let the sick just touched the edge of its cloak, and all who touched him were healed" (Matthew 14:35-36).  God's looking for people who are willing to break tradition.  When he finds them, he uses them to open doors and new dimensions of his power, so that others might be blessed and made whole.

"Your word is settled in heaven." Ps 119:89 NKJV

LET GOD'S WORD SETTLE IT!

Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones writes: "It is the spirit and the word, the spirit upon the word, and the spirit in us as we read the word:

You say, "It's impossible." God says, 'With me all things are possible" (See Lk 18:27). You say, 'l'm exhausted." He says, 'Wait on me, I will renew your strength" (See Isa 40:31). You say, "Nobody loves me." He says, "I have loved you with an everlasting love" (Jer 31 :3 NIV). You say, "I can't go on." He says, "My grace is sufficient for you" (2Co 12:9 NIV). You say, "I don't know what to do: He says, I wiII direct you" (See Pr 3:6). You say, "I can't do it: He says, "You can do all things through Me" (See Php 4:13). You say, "It's not worth it: He says, "It will be - just keep going" (See Gal 6:9). You say, "I can't forgive myself: He says, "You can - because I have" (See Eph 4:32). You say, I can't make ends meet." He says, "I will supply all your needs" (See Php 4:19). You say, "I'm afraid: He says, "I didn't give you the spirit of fear, but of power" (See 2Ti 1 :7). You say, "I can't handle this." He says, "Give it to me; I'll carry it for you" (See Ps 55:22). You say, 'l'm not smart enough: He says, "I wiII give you wisdom" (See 1 Co 1 :30). You say, 'I'm all alone." He says, "I will never leave you nor forsake you" (Heb 13:5 NKJV). Billy Sunday said, "I stand on God's Word, and if the book goes down" I'll go with it:

Today, let God's Word settle it!
